01 The difference of craftsmanship

How to distinguish the quality of slate from the appearance?

1. Check whether the surrounding of the slate is smooth, with or without edge collapse and burrs.
2. Check whether the whiteness of the white slate is enough. Generally, the whiteness of the good slate will be relatively higher. For other colors and textures, check whether the overall color is natural and smooth, and whether the surface is smooth and smooth. The touch of matte or antique slate will be more textured.
3. Whether the surface is variegated or discolored and deformed, you can also write on the slate with a pen to see if it can be easily erased by hand.

03 The difference in performance

Good slate has superior performance, and the high-tonnage press will make the slate density and hardness higher, so the water absorption rate of the slate will be lower, easier to clean and less prone to discoloration and deterioration.

Abrasion resistance is also its characteristic. The thick plate can be directly used as a cutting board to cut vegetables, and the kitchen knife will not leave marks on it.

Compared with good slate, poor slate has insufficient hardness, is easy to break, and has poor impact resistance. If you smash it with something hard, it will break, and it is easy to deform and change color after a long time. Recently, I have seen on Tieba and Toutiao that some users shared that the slate bought on a certain platform for several hundred yuan had cracked after only a few months of use.

As the saying goes, you get what you get for every penny. This is all reasonable. If you want to be cheap, it will have some bad consequences. Therefore, if you want the slate products in your home to be more durable, it is not just cheap. After all, a renovated home is a place where you want to live for a long time.
